Sorrentro Hotels in Sought After Neighborhoods

Sorrentro hotels in Sorrento’s Renaissance and Baroque center are some of the most sought after hotels despite the absence of the hundreds of tourist attractions which other Southern Italian cities and towns boast. Sorrento is not without its charms though; numerous historical churches dot the town including the lovely 14th-century cloister of the church of San Francesco. The real draw for Sorrentro hotels is that they allow guests to reach the well-known neighbouring towns of Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Ischia, in addition to providing easy access to the Amalfi Coast.

A very nice yet reasonable hotel Amsterdam centro is the Toren Hotel. It is right on the edge of the Jordann district and compliments the area significantly. The Jordaan district was built during the expansion early in the 17th century, as a district for the working class and new emigrants. It was a poor district of tiny houses and slums, stuffed with families and armies of children.

The entire area was a ghetto where canals were little more than open sewers. In the 1970’s it was planned to almost demolish all of Jordann but protesters forced instead, small-scale projects that repaired the neighborhood, without damaging its original character. The Jordann is now a sought after location with a different set of inhabitants. Today, these new inhabitants have changed the Jordann from a slum area to a district for artists and artisans, still living on low rent, and the rich who bought the very expensive renovated houses.
